Kosovo experienced a real tragedy on Friday evening.

In the center of the country, a gunman opened fire on a bus carrying students, killing two of them, a boy and a girl, as well as the driver, police said.

A 14-year-old student was also injured, but his condition is stable, Skender Dreshaj, the head of a hospital near the scene of the attack, told RTK state television.

According to local media reports, the gunman was wearing a mask and was armed with an AK47 machine gun.

The reasons for his gesture remain unexplained.

The children were coming home from school

The bus was packed with students returning from school, said Gllogjan village chief Mustafa Selmani.

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani condemned the attack and called on the police to find the perpetrators as quickly as possible and bring them to justice.

“Attacking a bus with students is a blow to safety and order,” she posted on Facebook.
