Extreme right-wing publicist Eric Zemmour wants to sue a magazine in France over a report that his counselor is alleged to be pregnant.

The article in the magazine Closer was an "invasion of privacy," said the alleged presidential candidate's lawyers on Friday in Paris.

The magazine had reported that the publicist's 28-year-old advisor, Sarah Knafo, was pregnant.

The two can be seen hooked on the title page under the heading "He will be dad in 2022".

The counselor's lawyer had tried in vain to prevent the publication of the magazine by legal means.

In October, the 63-year-old had already filed a lawsuit against several gossip papers that had speculated about his relationship with his advisor.

"Paris Match" had published bath photos of the two.

According to research by the newspaper Liberation, however, it was a staging.

Diocese of Marseille forbids appearing in front of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde

Meanwhile, the diocese of Marseille banned the publicist from appearing on the forecourt of the Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde church on Friday, which offers a spectacular view of the port city.

“He is welcome to visit Notre-Dame, but this is no place for political statements,” declared the diocese.

This applies to politicians of all parties.

Zemmour had taken the train to Marseille on Friday.

But then, surprisingly, he got out in Aix-en-Provence because a demonstration by opponents had been announced in Marseille.

Shouts of protest could be heard while walking through the city.

His staff accused the media of having passed his program on to organizations that incited violence.

Zemmour had to answer in the past week for sedition in court.

The public prosecutor demanded a fine of 10,000 euros.

The verdict is due to be announced on January 17th.

He has already been convicted of sedition in two other cases.

It is expected that Zemmour will soon announce his candidacy for the presidential election in April 2022.

In the polls he had at times repeated the right-wing populist Marine Le Pen, but had fallen behind again in the past few days.

A first major election campaign event is planned for December 5th in Paris.
