The Executive Council of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “UNESCO” elected the permanent representative of Saudi Arabia to UNESCO, Princess Haifa bint Abdulaziz bin Muhammad bin Ayyaf Al Muqrin, as Chairperson of the Programs and External Relations Committee emanating from the Executive Council of the Organization for the period from 2021 to 2023.

This came during the 213th session of the Executive Council, which was held yesterday evening, Friday, at the organization's headquarters in the French capital, Paris, according to the Saudi Press Agency, "SPA today."

The Programs and External Relations Committee is one of the most important committees of the Organization's Executive Council, and it is concerned with following up the activities and outputs of UNESCO's strategic reports, implementing the organization's programs, work reports of international organizations, and implementing the decisions of the General Conference.

Princess Haifa commented on the matter on her Twitter account, saying: "I was pleased with the election of the Executive Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as Chairman of the Council's Programs and International Relations Committee, as the Kingdom continues to achieve its endeavors and efforts to ensure a better future for all."

On January 14, 2020, Princess Haifa was appointed as the permanent delegate of Saudi Arabia to UNESCO.
