Take a large batch of stocked books.

Remove the binders.

Cut everything to the same size and paste together.

As the finishing touch - bind the book nicely.

The world's widest book to date is said to be 4.6 meters.

So it had to be longer.

Now the official measurement of the work awaits, so Olle Essvik does not yet know if his attempt will be included in the record book.

- We have been in contact with the Guinness Book of Records since May.

They are the ones who will take a stand on it, he says.

Insects that do not exist

The record attempt takes place in connection with Olle Essvik's exhibition in Skövde Art Gallery about dead media.

It also creates a new encyclopedia with insects that do not exist - a book that is "written" by algorithms controlled by computers and printed by printers without human intervention.

But Olle gathers the pages and binds them together.

For it is very much the manual bookbinding art that is celebrated and shown in the exhibition.
