The multi-hall called Thoren Arena will accommodate both football and floorball halls.

There will also be a new head office for the Thorengruppen.

There have been some delays and the construction became 100 million more expensive than first thought, according to CEO Raja Thorén.

It will be inaugurated on the tenth of December.

- The nerves are a little on the outside of the body.

There is still a lot to do, but we will get it together, says CEO Raja Thorén.

In February this year, the technical committee in Umeå decided that the municipality will rent the arena for 25 years.

That agreement also includes the overpressure tent on Gammlia football pitch.

The Left Party, which has opposed the project from the start, voted against the proposal and the Green Party abstained.

"Great deal for the municipality"

When the 25 years have passed, the municipality will take over the arena.

The cost during the time that Umeå municipality leases the arena is just over eleven million per year.

When the agreement expired, the municipality will have paid just over SEK 275 million.

Anders Linder, operations manager at Umeå leisure, thinks it is a reasonable sum.

- This is a great deal for the municipality.

You have to take into account what it would cost the municipality to build it itself and what the operating costs would cost, he says.

In addition to floorball and football halls, it will also open a sports shop and a gym on the premises.
