The operation lasted throughout Thursday, and now the police have released what has emerged from the inspection.

In total, the police checked 49 workers at the construction site.

In 14 cases, questions arose about people's permission to work in Sweden, therefore internal alien checks were carried out which resulted in twelve expulsion decisions, of which three people were taken into custody.

- We checked 49 foreign workers and in 14 cases internal alien checks were also made, in 12 of those cases the persons did not have the right to stay and work, says Jonas Hallbom at the border police.

The police must prepare reports for violations of the Aliens Act.

Workers are sent home

The Gender Equality Authority's inspections resulted in contact with a number of people where the limit for what could be defined as exploitation is close.

- They often lack knowledge of what applies and believe that the person who took one to Sweden has order on paper and a permit.

These are people from some of Europe and the world's poorest countries.

They are far below the collectively agreed wages, says Eva Norlin, regional coordinator against human trafficking, Gender Equality Authority.

The workers who are now sent home suffer from lost income and the cost of returning home.

Deficiencies in personnel files

The Swedish Work Environment Authority inspected six companies.

In these inspections, fall risks and suspicions of violations of working time rules were found.

The Swedish Work Environment Authority also found foreign workers who were not registered in the posting register.

In addition to this, unhygienic toilet rooms were found outside the workplace.

This will result in demands for measures and in two cases also continued processing for a penalty fee.

The Swedish Tax Agency checked personnel at the workplace, which is a list of those who are active at the construction site or in the business premises.

And according to the Swedish Tax Agency, there were shortcomings in personnel files as individual active persons were not registered for the work shift.

This will lead to control fees for the companies in question of four-digit, and in some cases, five-digit amounts.
