- This week, the last offers go out to that particular group, says Britt Åkerlind, infection control doctor in the Östergötland Region.

The regions that have problems mainly say that there are problems with vaccination staff.

Many of the staff who were previously vaccinated have returned to their regular duties.

There is also criticism of belated decisions from the Public Health Agency, FHM.

Even though there are sometimes long queues to the vaccination centers where you can get a drop-in in Östergötland, the vaccinations are a little slower than before.

- People come in, but not as fast as with the first and second dose, says Britt Åkerlind.

The protection decreases

She emphasizes the importance of those who have been offered a third dose of vaccine actually taking the syringe because the protection decreases after a number of months.

The Public Health Agency's figures from 24 November show that Östergötland has managed to give a third dose to 33 percent of the inhabitants in the age group 65-79 years.

For Gotland, the corresponding figure is 23 percent.

In the survey responses to SVT, Region Östergötland believes that everyone in the group aged 65-79 may have received their third dose before the turn of the year, but this is based on everyone accepting the offer of a third dose.
