Eric Zemmour was visiting Marseille this Friday.

The Marseille city gave an icy welcome to the almost-candidate for the presidential election, who did not finally meet anyone during his stroll in the second city of France.

His visit continues on Saturday.

REPORTING

Will he cut his visit short?

The putative presidential candidate began a two-day visit to Marseille on Friday, and the least we can say is that he was not well received by the second largest city in France.

"Anti-racist Marseille, Zemmour, break yourself!" Cried anti-fascist activists to Eric Zemmour as he strolled through the streets of the city.

Eric Zemmour hasn't seen anyone

For the almost candidate for the presidential election, the troubles began as soon as his journey by TGV.

The polemicist got off at Aix-en-Provence station, a stop before Marseille, in order to avoid far left activists who had come to protest against his presence in the Marseille city.

Then, he had to take time to stroll through the streets of the Panier district, not very far from the Old Port, and meet the inhabitants and traders.

He finally saw no one, except anti-fascist activists who followed him on his journey.

"If we do nothing, all of France will be a huge Marseille"

The walk lasted only ten minutes, but Eric Zemmour tried to put things into perspective by asserting that this kind of walks were always "staged".

The polemicist then declared that Marseille was an "anti-example": "If we do nothing, all of France will be a huge Marseille," he said.

His visit to Marseille could have symbolized his proximity to the French.

Even if he is still not officially a candidate, he could have shaken hands, exchanged with them.

To become president in a way.

Of the Marseillais, the polemicist has not yet seen any and he has even been heckled.

But Eric Zemmour's trip continues on Saturday.
