The decision on this recommendation has been made in consultation between school doctor Jenny Lorefors and the region's infection control.

- The students at the schools can gather, but you should lock the students in and out of the classroom, says Jenny Lorefors.

She says that there is a need to clarify the recommendations regarding the Christmas celebrations in the schools and information will come out to the schools in Jönköping municipality on Friday.

The assessment is, however, that students at the same school should be able to sit in the audience together.

- They still meet in the dining room, for example.

Can there be stricter recommendations in the future, there are a few weeks left until Christmas?

- We really hope that we will avoid it.

No general recommendation

According to Region Jönköping County's infection control doctor, only the municipality of Jönköping is currently issuing these recommendations.

- Each municipality makes its own decisions.

But it is usually the case that when Jönköping municipality starts, others hang on, says David Edenvik.

However, no general recommendations for schools in Jönköping County are currently included in infection control.

- It is a priority that students should be able to have their Christmas celebration.

We follow the advice given by the Swedish Public Health Agency.

But it can be good to try to find other ways, such as celebrating outdoors or in small groups.
