  According to the report, in the past year, Chinese philanthropic forces have actively participated in the fight against the new crown epidemic and natural disasters, focusing on poverty alleviation, special groups and people’s concerns. This reflects the growth and progress of China’s philanthropic forces and their efforts in implementing major national strategies and responding to major incidents. The important role of the whole society shows the selfless dedication and love of the whole society.

  According to statistics, in 2020, China will receive 225.313 billion yuan of charitable donations from home and abroad.

Among them, the mainland received a total of 208.613 billion yuan in donations, exceeding 200 billion yuan for the first time, a year-on-year increase of 38.21%.

In addition, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macau Special Administrative Region received donations of 14.9 billion yuan and 1.8 billion yuan respectively.

  Data shows that China's charitable donations in 2020 present the following characteristics:

  First, donations of money and materials are on the rise.

In 2020, there will be a certain increase in cash and material donations across the country, of which cash donations will reach 147.397 billion yuan, an increase of 41.12% year-on-year, and have exceeded 100 billion yuan for three consecutive years, accounting for 70.66% of the total donations.

  Second, enterprises are still important donors, and personal donations have increased significantly.

In 2020, the total donations of enterprises and individuals nationwide will be 121.811 billion yuan and 52.415 billion yuan respectively, with an annual increase of more than 30%.

Corporate donations exceeded 100 billion yuan for the first time, and they were still the main donation force, and personal donations increased simultaneously.

  Third, a large amount of donations have been invested in the fight against the epidemic and poverty alleviation.

In 2020, China's charitable donations will mainly go to the health sector, with a total of 71.036 billion yuan in donations, a year-on-year increase of 160.94%.

Among them, donations for epidemic prevention and control accounted for the largest proportion. In the first half of 2020 alone, charity organizations at all levels across the country received 39.627 billion yuan in anti-epidemic donations and 1.09 billion pieces of materials.

  The year 2020 is the year when China will decisively build a moderately prosperous society in all respects and fight poverty alleviation. All sectors of society donated 38.558 billion yuan to the field of poverty alleviation.

  Fourth, donations in the education sector have grown steadily. The total donations received in 2020 reached 45.029 billion yuan, an increase of 2.27% over 2019, accounting for 21.58%. Many university education foundations received more than 100 million yuan in donations.

  Sixth, the odd number of charitable trusts increased significantly, and the growth of the amount slowed down.

As of the end of 2020, China has registered a total of 537 charitable trusts, with a total property of 3.319 billion yuan, an increase of 96.70% and 13.08% respectively year-on-year.

In 2020, there will be 257 new charitable trusts nationwide, with an additional property scale of 390 million yuan. The overall trend is that the number of trusts has increased and the growth of trust properties has slowed.
