His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in the Al Dhafra region, witnessed the 17th collective wedding that was held at the Al Dhafra Fort, in which 50 young men from various cities of the region participated, coinciding with the country's celebrations of the 50th National Day "Golden Jubilee of the Union".

The wedding was organized by the Court of the Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra region, with the support of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company "ADNOC", and as part of the precautionary measures aimed at combating the "Covid-19" pandemic, to reach the stage of recovery.

Upon the arrival of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to the ceremony, he was received by dignitaries and people of the Al Dhafra region, the grooms and their families, who welcomed the participation of His Highness in their joys.

Then His Highness greeted the grooms, congratulating and congratulating them on this occasion, wishing them a happy married life filled with love, affection and intimacy, and the formation of a happy family that would be a good nucleus of the UAE society.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed the keenness of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for supporting such community initiatives that are in the interest of the people of the country and help them build new families that enjoy family stability and social cohesion.

His Highness said that mass weddings in the UAE have a major role in promoting the values ​​of cooperation and harmony among young people, preserving authentic Arab customs and traditions, and helping them to family stability and building happy families away from the costs of marriage.

He added: "As the UAE enters its fiftieth year, we are proud of the progress, renaissance and achievements we have reached today thanks to the wisdom of the founding father Sheikh Zayed and his brother Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed and their founding brothers, may God have mercy on them, who follow their path and complete their blessed path today, the rational leadership of the country."

His Highness said that the Al Dhafra Fort, which hosts the 17th mass wedding, dates back more than 400 years, as it was previously used for housing, fortification and defense, and was reconstructed and restored.

His Highness stressed that the organization of mass weddings in the Al Dhafra region stems from a deep belief in the necessity of pushing the youth’s march towards a bright tomorrow and taking good care of them, as they are the building block and the pillar of the future and an effective social element through which we look forward to the prospects of a bright tomorrow. In the marriage of more than 1,000 grooms from the region, over the past years, they have formed happy and stable Emirati families.

His Highness congratulated the grooms, their families and their families on this occasion, urging them to the importance of strengthening family and social ties and preserving authentic Emirati customs and values, given the family's main role in building society and consolidating its pillars and cohesion, and wished them a happy and peaceful life.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised ADNOC's support for the initiative of the Ruler's Representative Court in the Al Dhafra region to organize such mass weddings, which save young people and reduce the high costs of marriage.

He also thanked the organizers of the collective wedding and members of the organizing committee for their efforts that contributed to the success of the ceremony and drew joy and happiness in the hearts of the attendees.

At the end of the ceremony, His Highness visited a corner of the Al Ghadeer Emirati Crafts Project of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, which includes some handicrafts and heritage artifacts that express the originality of the UAE society and the creativity of Emirati women.
