On Friday, the Saudi media broadcast pictures of the Grand Mosque in Makkah Al-Mukarramah crowded with sects, for the first time since the restrictions imposed by the Corona pandemic last year.

After the authorities allowed the circumambulation of non-pilgrims on the first floor of the Grand Mosque, the Saudi Al-Ekhbariya channel published a video on Twitter showing the crowded courtyard of the Kaaba and the first floor of the two communities.

In turn, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque said in a statement that non-pilgrims had been received, stressing the need to prepare for this event.

And last month, worshipers lined up in the two holy mosques of Mecca and the Prophet, in implementation of the decision to receive worshipers at their full capacity, without being bound by the social distancing that has been in place since the beginning of the pandemic.

In March 2020, the Saudi authorities decided to close the courtyard of the Kaaba and suspend presence and prayer in the squares of the Two Holy Mosques, before worshipers returned in numbers that gradually increased.
