“Omicron” .. the name of the new mutant of Corona .. and “Health” classified it as disturbing

The World Health Organization Friday classified the new mutant of Covid-19, which was first detected in South Africa, as "alarming" and named it "Omicron".

The group of experts tasked with monitoring the development of the epidemic said, "The WHO was first notified of the B.1.1.529 mutation by South Africa on November 24, 2021 (...). This mutation contains a large number of mutations, some of which are worrisome."

Today, Friday, the World Health Organization announced that "B1N529" is one of the worrying strains of the Corona virus.

That day, Bloomberg News Agency quoted the World Health Organization, which revealed this after consultations with international experts.

According to the WHO definition, this classification is an indication that this mutated strain is more contagious or leads to a more serious disease course.

In addition, with the "worrying strain" there is a risk that conventional vaccines, medicines or corona measures will be less effective with it.

The organization said that this strain, which was called "Omicron" has a large number of mutations, some of which are cause for concern.

Preliminary evidence indicated an increased risk of reinfection with this strain compared to other strains that also include the currently prevalent delta mutant.

According to the organization, this strain was discovered in South Africa using genetic analysis on the ninth of this month.

In all, this strain has been genetically discovered so far less than 100 times.

It has been proven that there are several mutations that scientists believe could lead to easier transmission of the disease.

However, the organization said that it will be weeks before the exact effects of infection with this strain become clear.

So far, the World Health Organization has identified four "strains of concern": alpha, beta, gamma and delta, all of which cause significant infections in the epidemic because of their ease of transmission.

In addition, two types of "observed mutants" that appeared in South America early last year were included.
