"The decision taken by the Coordination Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots (KSORS) to suspend its activities was the result of an unprecedented pressure campaign unleashed by the US authorities against Russian Americans," Zakharova said in a commentary.

According to her, “such pressure, including summons for“ interviews ”and interrogations at the FBI, combined with threats of criminal prosecution, defamation of KSORS activists as“ the hand of Moscow ”, has acquired an unprecedented scale over the past year."

“We call on the Biden Administration to stop persecuting Russian compatriots,” the diplomat emphasized.

Zakharova added that the Russian Foreign Ministry will continue to "consistently defend the rights and interests of Russian America."

Earlier it was reported that the Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots (KSORS) in the United States suspended its activities in connection with the investigation of the American special services.

As noted, as a result of the actions of the special services of the United States "over the past year, at least three hundred Russian compatriots in the United States were subjected to investigative measures by the FBI."
