In addition to concerns about new cancellations, several restaurants are struggling with a staff crisis in the kitchens.

There are mainly many chefs who have been laid off, changed professions and who will not return to this year's Christmas table season.

At Högbo mill hotel, they have hired chefs from staffing companies to solve the problem.

- But not even they can deliver anymore, says restaurateur Stefan Johansson.

According to industry association Visita, there is pressure again on the Christmas tables this year.

- There has been a pent-up need to meet in social contexts after 19 months out of restrictions, says Jonas Partheen, press manager at Visita.

"We hope it can be a good Christmas table year"

Vaccine proof will be introduced next week and according to Visita, there is still uncertainty about exactly how it will work.

An ordinary restaurant that serves Christmas tables does not need to require vaccine passes but can let in as many people as can fit.

But if you have a Christmas show, you are affected by the new rules, according to Visita.

- During the last week, there have been some cancellations as a result, but so far we hope and believe that it can be a good Christmas table year, says Jonas Partheen.
