November 25, 2021 Israel and the United Kingdom have decided to ban entry to foreigners from six South African countries, due to the new Covid variant identified in the region.

South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Eswatini are the new entrants to the 'red' list, the highest level of risk.

"From noon tomorrow all flights from the six countries of Southern Africa will be suspended and we will add these countries to the 'red' list", announced the British Minister of Health, Sajid Javid, specifying that "anyone who arrives from these countries from 4 on Sunday morning he will have to quarantine himself in the hotel ".

The same measure was decided by Israel which banned travel to the region and closed the borders for those arriving from there.

For Israelis who have to return home, a 7-14 day quarantine in a special hotel is mandatory.

Mozambique was also included in the Israeli list.
