Data map: On October 4, 2021, the then Foreign Minister of Japan, Toshimitsu Motegi, arrived at the Prime Minister's residence in Tokyo.

According to reports, in September, Takeshita, the chairman of the Takeshita faction of the Japanese Liberal Democratic Party, passed away and the position of chairman was vacant.

On November 25, local time, the "Takeshita faction" held a meeting, and the plenary unanimously approved the party secretary-general Toshimitsu Motegi as the new chairman.

So far, the "Takeshita School", which lasted for about three and a half years, was officially renamed the "Mogi School".

Toshimitsu Motegi told reporters, "I want to create a harmonious, open, and strong team that can act in unity. Because many congressmen will be re-elected in the Senate election next year, I will work hard to get them all elected."

Motegi Toshimitsu once stated at a meeting of the "Takeshita faction", "To make Heiseiken (Takeshita faction) a mainstay supporting the Kishida regime and to be active in the political center."

Since Motegi is currently the secretary-general of the Liberal Democratic Party, after serving as the chairman of the "Takeshita faction", there have also been voices in the faction looking forward to "the faction can be expanded."

It was previously reported that Toshimitsu Motegi had served as Japan’s foreign minister, and later took over as the secretary-general due to the resignation of the Liberal Democratic Party secretary-general Liming Gan.

This position is the second person in the Liberal Democratic Party after the party president.

The "Takeshita School", also known as the "Heisei Research Association", currently has 51 members of Congress. It is the third largest faction of the Liberal Democratic Party in Japan after the "Abe" and "Aso" factions.
