China News Service, Fuqing, Fujian, November 25 (Reporter Lin Chunyin) On the 25th, the 9th Strait Youth Festival Village "young" power "cross-strait new farmers" short video contest and rural revitalization summit forum were held in Fuqing City, Fujian Province.

Experts and scholars on both sides of the strait pointed out that the countryside has become a blue ocean for youth cooperation on both sides of the strait, and they called for the establishment of exchanges and cooperation platforms for young people engaged in agricultural activities on both sides of the strait.

Professor Tang Yonghong, deputy director and professor of the Taiwan Studies Center of Xiamen University, believes that Taiwan has proposed the construction of "wealthy villages" since the early 1990s; the mainland currently regards the implementation of rural revitalization as a major strategic task for economic and social development. There is huge market demand and a broad stage. With lower costs and other late-mover advantages, new farmers on both sides of the strait can conduct close cooperation and exchanges in agricultural production modernization, agricultural management modernization, and agricultural industry innovation.

Tang Yonghong pointed out that at the moment, people in mainland China pay more attention to green, environmental protection, safety, and health. Smart consumption, digital consumption, smart payment and smart shopping have become the mainstream, bringing strong market demand for agricultural industry innovation. Young people engaged in agricultural activities build a platform for exchanges and cooperation.

“Taiwan’s new farmers need to have knowledge of the mainland market and understand the changes in market categories and consumer demand in order to find gaps in market demand.”

Professor Liu Dengzhong of Golden Gate University said that new farmers on both sides of the strait will work together to empower agriculture with technology, including agricultural e-commerce, irrigation and water supply, drones, automated machinery and precision agriculture, which will give more assistance to agricultural development; use creativity Cultural packaging of agricultural products, revitalizing old farmhouses, and regenerating the countryside, "every bit can become a beautiful landscape."

Rong Pingguo, director of Taiwan’s Shennong Broadcasting Station, said that before the epidemic, farmers on both sides of the strait exchanged visits and exchanges. Although cross-strait agricultural exchanges were blocked due to the epidemic, no matter how the external environment has changed dramatically, Chinese farmers have shared respect for heaven and love for thousands of years. The cultural heritage of cherishing the land, cherishing things and cherishing good fortune is still our greatest strength in facing challenges.

Taiwan’s senior media person Huang Zhixian believes that political turmoil has hindered Taiwan’s development in recent years, making many Taiwan’s village-building and creative talents "useless"; and the vast rural market on the mainland is a new blue ocean with boundless vitality for Taiwanese enterprises and youths.

"Taiwan young people have many opportunities in the mainland to use their goodwill and creativity to give full play to their strengths."

This event is one of the series of activities of the 9th Strait Youth Festival. It is sponsored by the People's Government of Fuqing City, undertaken by the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Fuqing City, Southeast Broadcasting Company of Fujian Radio, Film and Television Group, and co-organized by Fuqing Taiwan Farmer Pioneer Park.
