Addis Ababa is emptying of its expatriates.

They follow the instructions of the Western embassies, because the Ethiopian capital could soon find itself threatened by the rebel coalition.

Indeed, the Tigrayan and Oromo insurgents are about 180 km from the city.

Departures are scheduled until the end of the week.

The French community is formally called to leave Ethiopia this weekend.

The flights are also reserved and financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until this weekend.

This Sunday, a charter flight will even be specially chartered to repatriate the rest of the citizens, whose number is estimated at around a thousand.

The British authorities have also repeated the urgent need to leave the country to all its nationals due to the rapidly deteriorating civil war.

On Thursday, pro-government protests were held at the American and British embassies, accusing the two countries of disinformation and accusing them of deliberately causing panic in Ethiopia.

Except that the United Nations have also called on some of their employees and their families to evacuate.

As for the African Union, it has so far remained silent.

According to a source within the organization, she will not make a public announcement, but informally advises her members to leave the country and now work remotely.
