The head of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, Ambassador Mohammed Al-Emadi, affirmed that Qatar will maintain its position by continuing to provide the Emiri grant to the Gaza Strip.

Al-Emadi indicated - during his meeting with the head of the Hamas movement in Gaza, Yahya Al-Sinwar - that Qatar is still committed to its promise of reconstruction in the Gaza Strip and is working to facilitate the arrival of the reconstruction grant, according to a statement by the movement.

The statement said that Sinwar and a number of the movement's leaders discussed with Al-Emadi and his deputy, Khaled Al-Hardan, ways to alleviate the Gaza Strip and the reconstruction.

Al-Emadi affirmed - according to the statement - that Qatar remains on its positions in continuing to provide the Emiri grant to the Gaza Strip, and that it is still on its promise of reconstruction, and is working to facilitate the arrival of the grant allocated for that.

For his part, Sinwar valued the Qatari efforts to improve the living conditions in the Gaza Strip, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the Emir, the government and the people of Qatar, according to the statement.

Last May, Qatar announced the allocation of a financial grant of $500 million;

To contribute to the reconstruction of what was destroyed by the recent Israeli war on Gaza, which lasted 11 days (from 10 to 21 May last).

The residents of the Gaza Strip suffer from deteriorating living conditions as a result of the continuation of the Israeli siege for 15 years, in light of the slowdown in the reconstruction efforts after the Israeli war.
