SVT Nyheter Skåne has compiled some of the votes:

“Malmö's parks must be accessible to everyone and the light stunt that is now being built up in Slottsparken is a pure shame.

(...) It is not often that you want a power outage, but ... ”

"This is a stunt celebration of Malmö residents', in my opinion, finest park, where many go to gather strength and inspiration."

Only for those who pay

One writes: "This is a total failure for the city of Malmö and I am deeply disappointed."

Another continues: “I am upset, angry and angry… you put a private company in front of the people of Malmö.

The company can borrow the park for free !!! ”

A third asks about the motive behind the decision: "As a taxpayer in Malmö, I want to know the motivation for you unduly benefiting an individual company."

Many question the cost of the project:

“I understand that the art of light is fine and effective in the winter darkness.

But to exclude those who can not afford to pay in a public area that is usually used by thousands of citizens every week, it does not feel like the city of Malmö at all. "

Concern for the park's owls

A letter writer is worried that the light show will disrupt wildlife in the park:

"In recent years, we have been fortunate to have nesting horned owls in the fenced-off part of the park, so it is deeply regrettable that they have chosen not to take into account the fine wildlife that exists in the park."

SVT Nyheter Skåne has asked Andy Roberts, department manager at the street office in Malmö, for a comment.

Andreas Schönström (S), chairman of the technical committee, has previously told SVT that "entrance fees are a bit juicy" and that Malmö's politicians will evaluate this project very carefully next year.
