Good evening,

the coalition agreement of the future federal government is here. Lots of reading material: We were primarily interested in what the plant has to offer for the Rhine-Main area. It is good that the traffic light alliance in the Bundestag wants to accelerate central transport projects in the Rhine-Main area. The Frankfurt railway junction and the high-speed line to Fulda are listed under the corresponding projects. One might want to become faster by taking over the regional planning procedure by the federal government. The "Suedlink" power line planned across Germany, which partially runs through Hesse, is also to be built faster than previously foreseeable due to the acceleration of the planning processes. Regarding air traffic, the coalition agreement states that, as part of an air traffic concept called "2030+", the rail connection of the hubs,Frankfurt Airport is the largest of these and is to be promoted and the number of short-haul flights reduced. The fact that Germany is to become the leading location for sustainable financing should please the financial center, but also raise the question of how exactly this should happen. After all: there is now more clarity. That's always good in times like these.

Because puzzles and uncertainty are bad.

And with his application as federal chairman of the CDU, Helge Braun poses just such puzzles to his Hessian party friends.

He also leaves the question of his relationship with Volker Bouffier open.

Bouffier declared with "respect" for the member survey that the state executive, to whom Braun explained his candidacy, did not nominate him.

But would the members of the CDU really find it disrespectful if the Hessian state party entered the Bundestag election for the man they sent as their top candidate, asks Ewald Hetrodt, our state political correspondent in Wiesbaden.

The demonstrative reluctance is almost damaging the candidate.

There is clarity on another matter: Those who have not yet received a vaccination against the coronavirus will have a harder time taking part in public life from Thursday onwards. Then the country's new Corona regulation will come into force. Monika Ganster gives an overview of the most important rules: Perhaps it is not yet well known that the rules for events with more than 25 people are also tightened in the private sector. In closed rooms, all participants must be vaccinated or recovered, they must wear a medical mask and keep their distance. For private meetings, it is recommended that vaccinated and convalescent patients also undergo a rapid test before a meeting. There is no change in shopping in retail, only the mask requirement applies as before.

In addition, the city of Frankfurt could endeavor to organize the major event "Ball des Sports".

A spokesman for sports department head Mike Josef (SPD) announced this on Wednesday +++ the Mainz biochemist Dorothee Dormann receives the Alzheimer research award from the Hans and Ilse Breuer Foundation +++ the state of Hesse is extending its corona economic aid.

Stay healthy,
