At least five migrants died in the English Channel as they tried to reach Britain on Wednesday.

Around 2 p.m., a fisherman discovered about fifteen bodies floating off the coast of Calais.

Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin went to the site.

At least five migrants died Wednesday in the sinking of their boat in the Channel, off Calais, while they were trying to reach Great Britain, we learned from the Ministry of the Interior.

"Around 2 p.m., a fisherman reported the discovery of about fifteen bodies floating off Calais. A French Navy vessel recovered several bodies, including five dead people and five unconscious, according to a provisional report", a- we added from the same source, specifying that the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin was going there.
