November 24, 2021 "The traffic light is there". This was stated by the German Chancellor in pectore Olaf Scholz, presenting the coalition contract in Berlin.

Scholz announced "the first coalition of social democrats, greens and liberals at the federal level. A coalition of parties that will work eye-to-eye and bring their strengths to the well-being of our country."

In the foreground, in the press conference during which the agreement was presented, the themes of the

energy transition

, with the gradual halt to the use of coal by 2030, and of European "sovereignty".

On the basis of the agreement, approximately 2 per cent of the German territory will have to be used for the development of the wind sector, while particular attention will be dedicated to the development of energy by focusing on hydrogen as a vector. Among the objectives set is to ensure that by 2030, 80 per cent of Germany's energy is produced from renewable sources and that by that same date 15 million electric cars will be in circulation.

Scholz, a 63-year-old Social Democrat, defined the "

sovereignty of Europe

" as "a reference for the foreign policy of the new government", underlining at the same time the centrality of relations with France and the United States.

Scholz announced that due to the gravity of

the Covid situation

the possibility of introducing the vaccine obligation for some occupational categories is evaluated, in order to protect the weaker sections of the population.

There will also be a team of scientists and virologists who will keep the registry informed constantly.

Scholz did not specify which categories he was referring to: until now only the army had introduced the obligation of immunization, but for days there has been discussions about imposing it on health professionals as well.

The executive was presented by the press as "traffic light" due to the red, green and yellow colors associated with the three parties that make it up.
