Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok said today, Tuesday, in an interview with Al-Arabiya channel, that the recent political agreement with the army "was done on the basis of sparing the blood of the Sudanese and preserving the gains."

Hamdok considered that "there is no alternative to dialogue in Sudan and work towards reaching the elections," stressing that "the elections will open the way for the consolidation of democracy in Sudan."

Hamdok stressed that he is not thinking of gaining popularity, but is thinking "in the interest of the Sudanese people."

He also explained that "the forces of freedom and change in Sudan will remain active," adding that "the gathering of professionals led the revolution in Sudan with all professionalism."

He believed that "the priority now is to release all political detainees... and that will happen soon," expressing his support for "releasing all political detainees without exception."

In another context, Hamdok expressed his keenness to "adhere to all agreements related to the peace of Juba."

He returned and stressed that "the main entitlement in the transitional period is the elections," adding: "We seek to form a Sudanese government of independent national competencies."

In the economic aspect, the Prime Minister clarified that "the world's provision of aid to Sudan is linked to our achievement in the democratic transition."
