In Russia, over the past day, 33,996 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected - the indicator became the lowest since October 19.

The largest number of new cases was noted in Moscow (2749), Moscow region (1871), Samara region (1529) and St. Petersburg (1060).

During this time, 36 051 patients have fully recovered, 1243 people have died.

The total number of COVID-19 cases registered in the country has reached 9,400,835.Since the beginning of the pandemic, 8,089,694 people have recovered in Russia, 266,579 patients have died.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, to date, over 221.4 million laboratory tests for coronavirus have been performed in the country.

Director of the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, Alexander Gintsburg, on the Russia 24 TV channel noted that the COVID-19 pandemic will end when 70-75% of the population has the required amount of antibodies.

“The epidemic process will end when 70-75% of the population is vaccinated.

Not just vaccinated, but, accordingly, will have the required amount of protective antibodies, ”he said.

According to the specialist, in order to achieve such indicators, the rate of vaccination must be increased at least 3-4 times.

Gunzburg also answered a question about a nasal vaccine currently being tested.

According to him, this drug will allow the vaccinated to create protection at the level of the nasopharynx - "the entrance gate of this infection."

He recalled that inoculation with the Russian vaccine against coronavirus "Sputnik V" allows you to create the necessary level of protective antibodies in the blood.

At the same time, the use of a nasal vaccine will become “another barrier” to the penetration of the pathogen COVID-19 into the body.

“Such people, most likely, who will be vaccinated intranasally, will develop sterile immunity.

This means that the vaccinated person will not be the carrier of this pathogen.

At present, it cannot be guaranteed that a vaccinated person, inhaling or breathing air, which contains many pathogens of COVID-19, will not settle this virus on the nasopharynx, on the tonsils.

And this virus, in principle, can be transmitted to other unvaccinated people, ”he explained.

Gunzburg also said that the Sputnik V version of the vaccine, which can be used for adolescents aged 12-17, is awaiting approval from the Ministry of Health.

According to him, the drug that can be used for this age category is the Sputnik V vaccine, "diluted five times."

As a result of clinical studies, it was shown that adolescents respond very well to the drug "in terms of the appearance of protective antibodies," said Gunzburg.

“Among the side effects were absolutely minor, associated with a slight rise in temperature the day after vaccination, the maximum rise in temperature, as far as I remember, was 37.4.

No other side effects were found in the children that were in the study, ”he said.

Meanwhile, the head of the Federal Biomedical Agency (FMBA) of Russia, Veronika Skvortsova, said that the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended using the Russian test system for detecting the AmpliTest coronavirus as a reference for detecting COVID-19.

"Tests carried out by the Institute.

Robert Koch, showed that the tests produced by the CSP FMBA of Russia are one of the most sensitive and specific on the Russian market and the market of the CIS countries.

Based on the results of the tests, it was concluded that the kits produced by CSP FMBA of Russia have better performance in samples with a lower viral load, therefore, they provide higher sensitivity and higher discriminative ability for the detection of negative and weakly positive samples, "she confirmed.

The situation with COVID-19 in the regions

During a pandemic of coronavirus infection, Russian regions independently make decisions on tightening or weakening restrictive measures based on the current epidemiological situation.

So, in the Rostov region, mandatory vaccination against coronavirus was introduced for citizens over 60 years old and people with chronic diseases.

The corresponding decree was signed by the chief sanitary doctor of the region.

The first component of the vaccine must be vaccinated by December 20, the second - by January 20.

In four municipalities of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra, mandatory self-isolation has been introduced for unvaccinated citizens.

“From November 22 to December 5, 2021, a mandatory self-isolation regime was established for citizens living in Nefteyugansk, Nyagan, Urai, Kondinsky district (Leushi village, Lugovoy village, Mezhdurechenskiy village, Mortka village, Mulymya village), with the exception of citizens who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 or have had a disease, which is confirmed by a QR code or other document issued by a doctor and confirming this fact, ”the regional operational headquarters said.

The authorities of Kamchatka made a decision from November 23 to extend the QR-code system for trips in inter-municipal transport and for flights on air transport of local airlines.
