Assad, Tebboune and Erdogan express their support for Lebanon

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his Algerian counterparts Abdel Majid Tebboune and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed their support for Lebanon.

This came in cables of congratulations on the occasion of Independence Day received by Lebanese President General Michel Aoun from his three counterparts in addition to King Philip of Belgium and Emperor Naruhito of Japan, according to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Lebanese Republic today, Tuesday.

According to the statement, President al-Assad affirmed, in his telegram to his Lebanese counterpart, his keenness to "continue to work with you to strengthen bilateral relations of cooperation, embodying the solid bonds of brotherhood that unite our two peoples, and enabling them to face the common challenges they face."

He stressed "Syria's permanent support for Lebanon and standing by it in everything that contributes to its progress and prosperity."

For his part, the Algerian President Tebboune expressed his satisfaction "with the fraternal relations that bind our two brotherly countries and peoples, and his willingness to work with you to push them to broader horizons."

On the other hand, Turkish President Erdogan pointed out in his telegram that his country "attaches great importance to Lebanon's security, stability and prosperity, and is determined to continue its support for the Lebanese people and state."

He added, "I am fully confident that the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between our two countries will be strengthened in the coming period and that our cooperation will develop in all fields."
