In the village of Bessergenevskaya, Rostov Region, a large family was poisoned by an unknown substance.

As a result of the poisoning, three children died, and three more people - parents and a child - were hospitalized in serious condition.

Poisoning symptoms

As RT was told in the Investigative Committee in the Rostov Region, a criminal case was initiated into the death of children on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art.

109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence to two or more persons).

“On November 21, 2021, law enforcement agencies received a message about the discovery at the place of residence in the village of Bessergenevskaya, the body of a seven-year-old girl with signs of poisoning with an unidentified substance.

In addition, the foster parents of the deceased girl were hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the hospital, as well as three minor children with similar symptoms of poisoning.

Subsequently, eight and six-year-old girls died in the hospital, ”the regional department of the Investigative Committee explained.

In the house from where the poisoned family was taken, samples were taken for examinations.

The media reported that the cause of the poisoning could be homemade meat, which, presumably, family members ate on the eve of the poisoning.

“Employees of the territorial body of Rospotrebnadzor were instructed to conduct a study of seized food products for the presence of microbiological indicators and their compliance with established standards.

Medical forensic examinations of the bodies of the deceased have been appointed, ”the UK said.

The department added that the head of the Investigation Department Aslan Khuade transferred the case for further investigation to the first department to investigate particularly important cases of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Rostov Region.

The tragedy in the Rostov region also attracted the attention of the prosecutor's office - the supervisory authority took control of the investigation of the case, which was initiated by the local IC, and also announced their intention to conduct their own check.

“The Prosecutor's Office of the Rostov Region has organized an audit of compliance with the requirements of federal legislation.

An assessment will be given to the actions of the parents (legal representatives) of minors and the bodies of the prevention system, "- said in a message published on the website of the Rostov Region Prosecutor's Office.

Family positive

As RT found out, four children were brought up in the affected family, including adopted ones.

The Ministry of Health of the Rostov Region also clarified that one child was admitted to the regional children's hospital, the rest of the victims were left in the intensive care unit of the Novocherkassk hospital, located not far from the village where the family lives.

The head of the Bessergenevsky rural settlement, Anatoly Gudkov, confirmed to RT the very fact of the tragedy in the village, but refused to comment on the possible reasons for what happened before the results of the investigation appeared.

He also noted that the family is "positive", no complaints have been received against her.

“A very good family.

There are both foster children and their own.

The whole family is very positive, "the head of the settlement told RT.

After it became known about the mass poisoning in the Rostov region, information appeared in the media that the cause of the tragedy could have been low-quality homemade meat taken from the house of the injured family.

Nevertheless, the toxicologist of the Rostov-on-Don City Emergency Hospital Khugas Porksheyan, in an interview with RT, expressed doubts about this version - according to him, the poisoning was unlikely to be due to food.

“I can't say anything yet, but most likely there was carbon monoxide poisoning.

What is now being written about alleged meat poisoning is completely unlike the truth.

Meat cannot be poisoned so badly, to death, ”Porksheyan said.

“The clinical picture there looks like with carbon monoxide poisoning.

Adult relatives regained consciousness when they were taken from their home to the hospital.

The children were in a serious and extremely serious condition, apparently, there was a fairly long exposure.

But so far it is impossible to speak with certainty about the exact causes of the poisoning, ”the specialist concluded.
