"Strike renewed at France 24, for a 6th day. Next AGM tomorrow, Tuesday 23 November, at 4.30 pm", is it written in a tweet, published after the holding of a general assembly Monday afternoon.

The renewal of the strike won 51.15% of the vote (89 votes out of 174 voters), told AFP Antoine Mariotti, member of the delegation of 12 people who was appointed by the GA to negotiate with the management and unions.

"There is a word that is released at each AG", noted Mr. Mariotti, journalist editor in CDI, who has worked for 11 and a half years at France 24.

Despite management's actions, problems remain, according to Mr. Mariotti, who spoke of the "unease on the Arabic-speaking channel and on the website".

Among the advances obtained, he cited the announcement this weekend of the departure of his supervisory post from Gallagher Fenwick, the director of the English-speaking branch, who is now awaiting a new assignment.

Also welcomed: the announcement made Friday of the tenure of 50 freelancers on permanent contracts by the end of 2023 (including about thirty from 2022).

"These freelancers have been waiting for these CDIs for sometimes more than twelve years," the movement noted in a statement released this weekend.

A week ago, on France Inter, the director of France 24 Vanessa Burggraf had recognized "a malaise" within the editorial staff of the channel and that it was necessary "to get out".

France 24 offers four global continuous information channels (in French, English, Arabic and Spanish), broadcasting 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to 444 million households on 5 continents.

It has been offering its programs since the end of 2006 and belongs to the France Médias Monde group (which also oversees RFI).
