A 68-year-old man died this Saturday morning after being run over by a car in Montvalezan, near Bourg-Saint-Maurice (Savoie).

The victim remained trapped under the wheels of a vehicle which struck him.

The emergency services could not save him: the sixty-year-old was in cardiopulmonary arrest on their arrival, indicates France 3 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

The accident thesis is privileged

The doctors of the mobile emergency and resuscitation structure (SMUR) could only pronounce the death of the Savoyard.

The firefighters then managed to clear his body from under the body.

The shock occurred about 50 meters below the departmental road 84, which leads in particular to the Petit-Saint-Bernard pass (Savoie).

It would be of accidental origin, argues the regional television channel.

The first observations would support the hypothesis that the car which overturned the victim slipped down the slope following a problem with the handbrake.

It would not have been properly engaged or would have experienced a malfunction.

None of these elements has however been officially confirmed by the authorities in charge of the investigation.
