New black evening for Ligue 1 on Sunday evening: the shock between Lyon and Marseille was definitively stopped after the Marseillais Dimitri Payet was hit in the face by a bottle thrown by an OL supporter, during an umpteenth incident in Ligue 1 stadiums since the start of the season.

A man was taken into custody on Sunday evening after the throwing of a bottle of water on the Marseillais Dimitri Payet which resulted in the interruption and then the final stop of the meeting between Lyon and OM at the Parc OL in Décines-Charpieu, police said.

The man was identified by CCTV cameras before being arrested and taken into custody to be heard, said a police source.

A source at OL confirmed this custody evoking "an isolated act".

The club systematically lodges a complaint during incidents in its stadium.

A crisis unit brought together the authorities, clubs and referees, the Rhône prefect said in a tweet, specifying that the decision to resume the match belonged "to the sole referee".

Payet once again a victim

Marseille midfielder Dimitri Payet was hit in the head by a full bottle of water thrown by an OL supporter in the fifth minute of the shock counting for the 14th day of Ligue 1. The match was interrupted by referee Ruddy Buquet and the two teams returned to the locker room.

After announcing the resumption after more than an hour of interruption, the announcer finally indicated that the meeting was definitively stopped approximately two hours after the incident.

Payet had already been hit by a bottle during a match in Nice at the very start of the season, in August.

The 2021/2022 Ligue 1 season is marked by many incidents in the stands.

Projectile jets notably tarnished the match between Marseille and Paris SG on October 24 at the Stade Vélodrome.
