Soon, the name of the perpetrator of the attack will be heard in the city and the schools of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City.

He is Fadi Mahmoud Marish Abu Shkhaydam, 42, from the Shuafat refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem. He is the familiar face here and the one who always calls for "jihad and the support of Al-Aqsa."

The martyr Abu Shkhaydam holds a master's degree in jurisprudence and Islamic legislation, and is preparing a doctoral study, according to what his uncle Shibli Suwayti told Al Jazeera Net.

Sweiti also says that "Sheikh" Fadi Abu Shkhaydam is one of the notables of his extended family in the city of Hebron in the southern West Bank.

He works as a teacher of Arabic and Islamic education at the Rashidiya School in Jerusalem, and a teacher of Islamic jurisprudence at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The martyr is also known as the preacher of many mosques in Jerusalem, and was a student of his maternal grandfather Ismail Sweiti, who was injured during the Nakba while defending the walls of Jerusalem, and was part of the "Holy Jihad" organization.

after the clash

Shortly after carrying out the armed attack and killing him during it, the occupation forces reopened the gates of the Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and began removing traces of heavy blood, remarkably, on the ground.

The body of the martyr was detained, and its soldiers, accompanied by the trail dogs, stormed the Rashidiya School in which he was working, and summoned some of his students for interrogation.

Later, the identity of the dead Israeli was revealed, who was conscripted in a company belonging to the "Parachute Brigade" in the occupation army, and works as a guide for settlers at the Al-Buraq Wall adjacent to Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The occupation also announced that the health of the other injured person, who was a rabbi, had deteriorated.

On the other hand, large forces of the occupation rushed to the Shuafat camp, north of Jerusalem, the place of residence of the martyr, and a large number of members of the "Al-Yamam" special unit and the so-called "Border Guard" participated in storming his house after besieging it and preventing relatives from entering it.

And the occupation forces vented their anger on the family of Abu Shkhaydam, where they detained his children, his mother and his brothers in one room and subjected them to field investigations and body searches.

The occupation soldiers deliberately vandalized the martyr’s library, which contained thousands of books, before they proceeded to storm the homes of his brothers and wreaked havoc for hours.

In the aftermath, the occupation arrested the martyr’s daughter, brother and nephew, and summoned his mother, uncle and the rest of his brothers for interrogation, along with his eight-year-old son Abdullah.

According to his family, the martyr Fadi Abu Shkhaydam is married and the father of 5 children, the youngest of whom is 3 years old and the oldest of whom is 20 years old.

His wife had left Palestine for Jordan a few days ago to visit her sick mother.

His eldest son, Abdul Rahman, mourned him on his Facebook account, saying: "Praise be to God a martyr, he was martyred as he seemed (as he wanted), may God have mercy on you, my Sindhi, you were everything to me, I lived as a lion and I was martyred as a lion."

scholarly and educated

Despite the abuse and the atmosphere of fear that the occupation spread in his home, his mother told Al Jazeera Net: "May God have mercy on him and accept him and be satisfied with him. I was waiting for him today to go with me to renew my passport to go to Umrah. He was a beloved, brave, principled and knowledgeable person."

She was holding his picture, amid exclamations and congratulations on his martyrdom, which she received from those who came to support and greet her, after the occupation also detained and interrogated her despite her poor health.

His brother-in-law, Muhannad Abu Romi, said, while trying to hide his affection, that "Fadi is a scholar and an educated person. The terraces of knowledge in Al-Aqsa Mosque testify that he did not accept the desecration and daily intrusion that takes place there."

After the operation, the Palestinians circulated video clips of the martyr saying: "The arena of heroism is to stand in the face of the oppressors, the arena of heroism is to tell the oppressor to stay away from us."

In addition to excerpts from his previous sermons on the merits of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the necessity of supporting Palestinian prisoners.

The Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" mourned the martyr Fadi Abu Shkhaydam, in a statement that blessed the operation, and called on the Palestinian people "to continue in Rabat inside Al-Aqsa Mosque and confront attempts to desecrate it."

The movement said, "The message of the heroic operation carries a warning to the criminal enemy and its government to stop the attacks on our land and our sanctities, and that the state of arrogance it practices against Al-Aqsa Mosque, Silwan, Sheikh Jarrah and others, will pay the price."
