"He was a certain age and certainly did, this Sunday, the race too much," responded to the regional daily François Beaucamp, vice-president of the Bouscat racecourse.

The ten-year-old animal was entered in the Prix de Chantegrive (Grand Steeple-Chase de Bordeaux), an obstacle course run over 5,300 meters.
