France: "dazzling" rise of the 5th wave

The current progression of the 5th wave of Covid-19 in France is "dazzling", warned Gabriel Attal, government spokesman on Sunday, however weighing "elements that can worry us and elements that can make us confident ".

Netherlands: new violent protests

Dutch police said on Sunday that they had arrested 19 people after a second night of violent protests against the latest government health measures.

In The Hague, several police officers in riot gear charged groups of demonstrators who threw stones and various objects at them in a working-class area, and used a water cannon to extinguish burning bicycles at a busy intersection, the city police explained.

Bayern: salary reduction for unvaccinated players in quarantine
