After a long period of digital meetings, the pandemic is now being felt in the hotel's conference bookings.

Conference revenues increased in October by 80 percent in Gothenburg, 134 in Malmö and 144 percent in Stockholm, compared with the same month last year.

This is shown by new figures from the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and the Benchmarking Alliance.

"Many have never been seen in real life"

SVT Nyheter visits a conference hotel in central Stockholm where the company Yrkesakademin has gathered employees from all over the country in a large hall.

- We have not been able to meet each other physically for almost two years, says Josefin Born Nilsson, business area manager, to SVT, and she continues:

- We have become many more, we have grown from 40 to almost 90 employees, and many have never been seen in real life.

More money

The figures from Stockholm also show that companies are prepared to spend more money on conferences.

- When you now hold a conference and have not done so in such a long time, you are perhaps a little more generous, says David Viklund, director of the hotel Clarion Sign.
