An Arab welcome to the political agreement concluded in Sudan

Egypt also expressed its hope that the agreement would represent a step towards achieving sustainable stability in Sudan, opening up prospects for development and prosperity for the brotherly Sudanese people.

Today, Saudi Arabia welcomed the conclusions reached by the parties to the transitional phase in Sudan.

In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed, “The Kingdom welcomes the agreement reached by the parties to the transitional phase in sisterly Sudan on the tasks of the next phase, restoring the transitional institutions, leading to elections on schedule, forming a government of competencies to push the transitional process forward, and contribute to achieving the aspirations of the Sudanese people.” brother, and in a manner that preserves the political and economic gains achieved, and protects the unity of the ranks among all Sudanese political components.”

The ministry affirmed, "the stability and continuity of the Kingdom's position in support of everything that would achieve peace and maintain security, stability and development in the sisterly Republic of Sudan."

Al-Burhan and Hamdok had signed a political agreement that included the release of all political detainees and the restoration of Hamdok to his position.

The agreement stipulated working to build a unified army, and that "the Sovereignty Council shall be the supervisor of the transitional period...without direct interference in the executive work."
