The announcement, in a crowded meeting in the presence of volcanologists and local civil protection: involved about 150 residents who will have to find another accommodation for the night. Restrictions also for tourism: starting from Monday, for a month, tourists will not be able to disembark, only commuters will be allowed to enter the island.

The military had as a precaution removed people from their homes and requested the immediate intervention of personnel from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology who, at the outcome of the inspection, confirmed that a "degassing phenomenon with a percentage of carbon dioxide was taking place ( CO2) above normal values ​​".
