"During the telephone talks, the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to establish a direct line of communication at the level of defense ministers, which will serve as a mechanism for preventing incidents," the statement said.
Earlier, the Armenian Defense Ministry stated that the ceasefire regime on the border with Azerbaijan is generally observed.
In turn, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry stated that the situation on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border is stable.
On November 16, it became known that Armenia and Azerbaijan took measures to stabilize the situation on the border after a conversation between the defense ministers of the two countries with their Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu.
