Since 13 o'clock on Friday, a steady stream of alarms has entered the alarm center.

In both southern Kalmar and Kronoberg, a large number of trees and pipes have fallen down.

Both the Swedish Transport Administration and rescue services around Kalmar and Kronoberg have been out on several alarms.

- We have an incident right now in Ryd where home care staff who have been to a patient out in the country and got stuck between two trees.

We had to send out some staff who sawed that up, says Fredrik Stjärnebring, operations manager at the rescue service Östra Kronoberg.

"20 meters per second in the villages"

In addition to fallen trees, there have been road signs, a doormat and a trailer that went out on the road in the wind

(see the fact box with a selection of all alarms until 18.30).

- Of course it blows hard, it does.

It is up to 20 meters per second in the villages and that is when there is a risk of trees falling down, says Fredrik Stjärnebring.

Despite the windy weather, however, there is no general advice against going out into the traffic, and SMHI has not issued any warning.

According to the forecast, the wind is expected to subside during the night.
