Due to the rapid spread of infection with the new coronavirus in the EU-European Union, EU drug regulators announced on the 19th that "Mornupiravir", a drug for mildly ill patients still under review, is in an emergency. Announced that it will be approved for use by adults.

"Molnupiravir" is a drug developed by American pharmaceutical giant "Merck" that suppresses the growth of the new coronavirus.

The EU drug regulator, EMA = European Medicines Agency, has been reviewing the drug for approval since October, and on the 19th, based on the data verification so far, within 5 days after the onset of symptoms. He stated that if he started taking the drug, he would reduce the risk of hospitalization and death, and announced that he would allow it for adults in emergencies.

With this view, each member state will decide whether to actually use this drug.

"Molnupiravir" has already been approved by UK regulators in November.
