The man, who was 17 years old at the time of the incident, was charged with shooting dead two people and injuring a third.

The now 18-year-old man is acquitted of all charges after invoking self-defense.

It was on August 25 last year that riots broke out in Kenosha, after the police shot the black father of small children Jacob Blake with seven shots in the back.

The 17-year-old had that day set out heavily armed from his home in a nearby town in the neighboring state of Illinois, to protect Kenosha from insurgents, according to his own statement.

A riot broke out in the evening and a video shows how a person who appears to be the 17-year-old falls to the ground and shoots at protesters who come towards him.

Two people were killed and a third was seriously injured by the shots.
