The coalition in Yemen said that Thursday morning, it carried out a large-scale operation on military targets in several Yemeni governorates, after it intercepted and destroyed a drone that tried to target Abha International Airport in southern Saudi Arabia.
In a statement published by the official Saudi Press Agency, the coalition said it was taking "operational measures to deal with the sources of hostile cross-border attacks."
The Saudi-led coalition later announced that it had carried out a wide operation that included targets in the governorates of Sanaa, Dhamar, Saada, and Al-Jawf in Yemen, in response to the threats of ballistic missiles and drones.
And Saudi television quoted the coalition as saying that it had destroyed workshops and stores for ballistic missiles, drones, and communications systems.
The coalition added that it targeted what it described as a secret facility of experts from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and the Lebanese Hezbollah, the two entities it accuses of being involved in attacks on the kingdom.
Earlier on Thursday, the coalition vowed in a brief statement to "strike firmly", to protect civilians and civilian airports (in Saudi Arabia).
"Civilian airports and civilians are a red line, and we will strike firmly within the framework of international humanitarian law," the statement said, without providing further details.
The coalition announced once again its support for the operations of the Yemeni forces on the western coast of Yemen outside the Stockholm Agreement texts areas.
The coalition said - according to what was reported by the Saudi Press Agency - that during the past 24 hours, it carried out 6 targeting operations on the western coast to support the coastal forces and protect civilians.
It also carried out 29 targeting operations against Houthi militants in Marib and Al-Bayda.
The coalition indicated that its operations destroyed 22 military vehicles and air defense systems, killing more than 90 Houthis.
Yemen has been witnessing for nearly 7 years a continuous war between the pro-government forces backed by an Arab military coalition led by the neighboring Saudi Arabia, and the Houthis, who have controlled governorates, including the capital, Sanaa, since September 2014.
