The baby found dead Monday in an apartment in a popular district of Limoges, after his father had committed suicide by throwing himself from the 4th floor of a building, died "following blows to the head", a- we learned Thursday from the prosecutor.

The autopsy performed on the body of this 7-month-old girl confirmed that these blows were "the direct cause of death", declared Baptiste Porcher, public prosecutor of Limoges.

A second autopsy, performed on the father of the family, confirmed his death by defenestration but could not determine whether he was alcoholic at the time of the facts.

"The toxicological analyzes did not come back to us", continued the prosecutor.

The man would have defenestrated himself in front of his wife

The investigation to confirm that the author of the beatings is indeed the father is still ongoing, even if "it is the most probable hypothesis", estimated Baptiste Porcher, specifying that the door of the apartment was closed of inside at the time of the incident.

According to testimonies collected on the day of the tragedy, the man would have waited for the woman to return to clear the window in front of her, around 7 p.m.

The latter then ran into the apartment where she found the body of the lifeless baby.

The mother had lodged a complaint for violence by her companion

According to a police source, the mother had lodged a complaint for violence by her companion on her person but had said that she was not worried about her daughter when she was alone with her father, assuring that he was not capable of preying on the child.

The man and woman, who was hospitalized in shock, were in the process of separation but still lived together, according to the same source.
