Kungsbacka municipality has made an impact assessment of letting in electric scooter bike rentals.

This after two companies wanted to start renting.

During yesterday's meeting with the Committee for Technology in Kungsbacka, the issue was up and at the suggestion of the alliance, the committee decided to say no.

- We do not have the traffic planning based on our urban planning required for this type of vehicle.

Based on experience from other cities, incorrectly parked and lying electric scooters are obstacles for both walking and car traffic, says Monica Neptun (L), municipal councilor and chairman of the committee for Technology.

Monica Neptun states that incorrectly parked electric scooters risk reducing accessibility and security for all residents in the municipality.

In addition, she believes that it can be more difficult for operating and maintenance vehicles to get to the urban environment if there are electric scooters in the way.
