Last week, the Sudanese bid farewell to the Sufi scholar, the owner of patriotic stances, and open attitudes, Sheikh Al-Qadiriyah Al-Arqiah, Abdullah Al-Reeh Abdul-Qadir, Azraq Taiba.

While the current political events in Sudan, since last October 25, have overshadowed everything else, the events of a good farewell ceremony emerged at the forefront of the Sudanese scene, for what the man represented scientifically, religiously, nationally and humanitarianly, according to followers.

And the state of the island declared official mourning for three days.

And she said in an official statement that "the deceased was a symbol who enriched religious, political and social life, and he is one of the poles of the Sufi life. He called for moderation and avoiding extremism and extremism, and was a model in uniting people.

The journalist residing in Cairo, Mahmoud Abu Bakr, told "Emirates Today" that "what distinguishes the world from Blue Taiba is its attempt to combine authenticity and modernity, as it organized the Qadiriyah martial ties of both sexes, separately, in cities, neighborhoods and universities, and made science and its demand for it." And good deeds and their diversity, mainly in joining the ranks of his way, and this was evident in his establishment of a secondary school in Taiba, a scientific complex in Kosti, and branches in Gedaref, Kassala, and Rusayris.”

Abu Bakr continued, “A good attitude towards politics in which the nationalist prevails over the partisan, the regional, or otherwise.

It is true that by virtue of the link between his method and the Federal Party, he is affiliated with the latter, but he is open to everyone, as he exchanged messages with the symbol of the first Sudanese left, the late Muhammad Ibrahim Naqd, and negotiated with the leader of the popular movement, Yasser Arman, and met with the southern politician Pagan Amum, and traveled To meet with the ousted Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, during his assumption of power, for the purpose of advising and reforming the country, in the crisis of governance, and finds no objection to combining all these contradictory behaviors in form, because he believes that the most important in all of this is to strive for the good of the Sudanese nation.

Abu Bakr concludes that “the late Sufi’s behavior, extending in various directions, does not mean that he was without a position, on the contrary, and the Sudanese watched him preach against the rule of salvation, and the country was on the edge of the December revolution, as they saw him chanting: Just fall, before the revolution.”

The Sudanese researcher, Rinas Muhammad, said, “The formation and behavior of the late Abdullah Azraq Taiba is similar to his grandfather Abdul-Baqi bin Sheikh Hamad Al-Nile, whether in his interest in science, as the grandfather was touring the tribes to persuade them to send their children to the school he built in 1906, or his founding of a girls’ school in 1942. Or in his national confrontations against the British, or in his relations with all the poles of the national movement in his time, such as Sharif al-Hindi, Ismail al-Azhari, Ali al-Mirghani, and Abd al-Rahman al-Mahdi.

It is worth noting that in his life, Blue Taiba, despite his tolerant ideas, was subjected to three assassination attempts, the last of which was in his stronghold in the village of Taiba, and what was remarkable was his insistence on protecting the perpetrator from the oppression of his followers, after they caught him, according to press follow-ups.

It should be noted that good fingerprints on major issues continued prior to the December revolution, in a conference hosted by all Sudanese parties, to pool their efforts against Al-Bashir, and in support of the farmers’ movement on the island. In May 2020, he presented the Sudanese government with an initiative to complete the peace process in the Blue Nile and South Kordofan.
