Hear the school principal explain what lies behind the successes

Gullspång's success may come as a bit of a surprise as it has been turbulent around the school in Gullspång, around the outgoing principal and the school principal who has received criticism from staff for not listening.

- It happens sometimes when you do reorganization and savings.

It becomes turbulent and creates anxiety among employees.

But when you focus on the right thing and move on - then we succeed, says Awaz Karim, school principal.

Munkedal at the bottom

In the Swedish Teachers' Association's ranking, two municipalities in Västra Götaland are among the top ten - Åmål is now ranked as the fourth best school municipality and Gullspång has taken a giant step, from place 77 to place 6.

In the bottom league, Munkedal is in 264th place out of a total of 290 municipalities.

The ranking is based on official statistics, statistics jointly produced by unions and employers and the union's own surveys.

Two out of ten criteria weigh more heavily, namely qualified teachers and teacher density.

Other criteria are sickness rates among teachers, teacher salaries and the municipality as principal.
