  According to reports, Japan’s Hyogo Prefecture said that on the 16th local time, a chicken farm in Himeji City reported that “more chickens died than usual”. After testing, it was found that the dead chickens contained avian influenza virus. This is currently suspected. The virus may be a highly pathogenic avian influenza virus.

  According to reports, Hyogo Prefecture has begun culling about 155,000 chickens on the chicken farm. The culling will take about 3 days, and all epidemic prevention work will take about 1 week to complete.

  It was previously reported that a bird flu epidemic has also occurred in a chicken farm in Izumi City, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.

The Kagoshima Prefecture government organized the culling of approximately 38,000 chickens on the chicken farm.

It was later confirmed that the virus that caused the epidemic was the "H5N1" avian influenza virus with a high fatality rate.
