Expo.. Musical and folkloric performances to celebrate Mongolia's National Day

The Republic of Mongolia held a party on the occasion of its National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai, yesterday, where it organized a variety of cultural and entertainment activities, which included live musical and folkloric performances, after the official flag-raising ceremony was held in Al Wasl Square.

The Executive Director of the Office of the Commissioner-General of "Expo 2020 Dubai", Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali, welcomed the Director of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Mongolian Pavilion at "Expo 2020 Dubai", Doreen Tomengjargal, who headed his country's delegation at the ceremony.

"The Mongolian Pavilion embraces the nomadic lifestyle that has prevailed in the country for thousands of years, and shows how this coincides with the current and growing urban lifestyle," Al-Ali said.

He added, “The pavilion immerses its visitors in a unique display of Mongolia’s rich heritage, while also providing an opportunity to explore the country’s tourism potential.

The pavilion also stands out in highlighting the historical importance of Mongolia and the cultural features that make up its unique identity.”

In his speech, Doreen Tomengjargal praised the friendly relations between his country and the UAE, and said: “This year we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the United Arab Emirates, and I am sure that our participation in (Expo 2020 Dubai), the iconic global event. It will increase the strength of bilateral relations between our two countries, as well as increase trade cooperation between them.” He added: "This version of the (World Expo) has a great advantage, which is the meeting of 192 countries together for the first time after the "Covid-19" pandemic, as this international event represents an important platform for the exchange of information, values, cultures, achievements, and best practices, as it is It embodies an opportunity for governmental and non-governmental organizations and bodies to discuss global challenges, and we at the Mongolia Pavilion are happy to showcase our heritage, our nomadic lifestyle, as well as our business opportunities.”

Located in the hopping area, the Mongolian Pavilion reflects the nomadic lifestyle of its people thousands of years ago. Visitors can explore the country's wildlife, including the fundamental role that horses play in Mongolian culture.

The pavilion offers traditional singing performances and ancient games, such as the game "Shagai", in which clean and polished sheep's ankle bones are used.

The National and Honorary Days at Expo 2020 Dubai are times to celebrate the more than 200 international participants, highlighting their cultures, their achievements, and what their pavilions and programs have to offer.

The activities of these national and honorary days include a flag-raising ceremony on the platform of nations in Al Wasl Square, followed by welcoming speeches, and cultural artistic performances of the countries.
