Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu expressed his country's hope to resolve the crisis between Lebanon and the Gulf countries through mutual respect, expressing Ankara's readiness to play a role in this field.

In a joint press conference with his Lebanese counterpart Abdullah Bouhabib in Beirut, the Turkish minister stressed the need to support the Lebanese government to overcome crises and hold parliamentary elections on time.

Davutoglu met today, Tuesday, with Lebanese President Michel Aoun at Baabda Palace in Beirut, and also met the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri.

Regarding his meeting with Berri, Cavusoglu confirmed that they agreed to enhance cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, and continued, "We had the opportunity to assess Turkish-Lebanese relations and regional issues, and at the same time we received information from President (Berri) about the general elections scheduled for next March." .

In the same context, Oglu said in a tweet, "We affirmed with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, our common will to strengthen relations between the parliaments of the two countries."

Davutoglu held the first meeting in his visit to Lebanon - which he arrived on Monday on an official visit lasting a few days - with Economy Minister Amin Salam.

In conjunction with his visit to Lebanon, the Lebanese newspaper Al-Jumhuriya published an article by the Turkish minister in which he affirmed that "Turkey's only agenda in Lebanon is to contribute to bringing peace, calm and prosperity to the friendly and brotherly Lebanese people, and to support the country's security, stability and sovereignty."

He said that his country will continue to make every effort to resurrect Lebanon from under the rubble, especially as it faces one of the largest economic crises in the world during the past 150 years, according to World Bank estimates.

Davutoglu stressed that "Lebanon will emerge stronger from the crisis it is going through."
