November 16, 2021Jannik Sinner beat Pole Hubert Hurkacz 6-2, 6-2 in his debut match at the ATP Finals in Turin.

The South Tyrolean, who entered the tournament after the retirement of Matteo Berrettini, is now forced to win against Medvedev to reach the semifinal.

Victories that would not be enough for him, however, if Zverev were to beat Hurkacz on Matchday 3, Thursday.

The situation would see Sascha Zverev, Daniil Medvedev and Jannik Sinner equal to two victories but with the same number of matches played, with one less, the Italian would leave the scene.

At the end of the game Sinner's special thought towards Berrettini: "Matteo you are an idol", his words.
